Tournament Travel Necessities
Coolers/Drinks – Supply enough to keep them hydrated for the tournament and don’t forget to bring enough for your family Snacks/Food – enough for the day. Avoid candy and processed sugars. Proteins and lean fats are better. Fruit is good as well. Think several, small and light instead of one, big, and heavy. Sunscreen/Bug Spray - the girls may need to apply several times during a tournament. Wash Cloths - Frozen wash cloths or Frog Togs are good to help keep the girls cool. Hand Warmers - A couple in the shoes are very affective Chairs – in case you don’t want to sit in the stands Stadium Seats – in case you want to sit in the stands Blankets – you never know how cold it will be/can also be used to sit on the ground Shelters/Umbrellas – umbrellas can come in handy if you are sitting in the stands/protects you from the sun and the rain Shelters/Pop-up Canopy – if anyone has a sun shelter, we will need at least two for every tournament so the girls have a place to get out of the sun. We could also use another one to place over the stands for the families. Collapsible Table – if anyone has one, this would be helpful under the shelter. Games/Activities – fun things for the girls to do when they are waiting for the next game and for their siblings to do Spirit Wear – don’t forget to bring/wear your spirit wear Cash – bring cash because the concession stands only take cash T-shirts – many tournaments sell t-shirts – the kids always want one Spray Misters – the battery operated handheld mister/water bottles help keep the heat at bay Clothing – remember to layer…be ready for freezing temps in the morning and baking temps by the afternoon. Bring a pair of black softball pants in case something happens to the uniform pants. Miscellaneous – Not every ballpark is created the same. Keep a small bag in your car with toilet paper, paper towels, plastic silverware, etc. |
